KORUPTOR TIDAK LAYAK DAPAT REMISI

Pemerintah diminta menghentikan pemberian remisi bagi koruptor. Sebab pengurangan masa tahanan bagi pelaku kejahatan luar biasa mencenderai rasa keadilan bagi masyarakat. Pemberian remisi kepada pelaku kejahatan tindak pidana korupsi tidak akan memberi efek jera. Apalagi selama ini hukuman yang jatuh kepada mereka cenderung ringan,”kata wakil koordinator indonesia corruption wacth (ICW) Emerson Yuntho saat dihubungi di jakarta kemarin.

Apalagi lanjut dia, akhir akhir ini pengadilan tindak pidana korupsi menjatuhkan vonis paling banyak tiga tahun bagi koruptor. Pada idul fitri tahun lalu kemenkun dan HAM memberikan diskon masa tahanan kepada 44.652 narapidana dari jumlah tersebut 235 diantaranya koruptor. Emerson mengatakan pemerintah dapat melakukan moratorium untuk pemberian remisi bagi para koroptor. Setelah itu,kata dia pemerintah bersama DPR dapat menggondok ulang peraturan perundang-undangan yang mengatur soal remisi. Emerson berpendapat seharusnya pengurangan masa tahanan hanya diberikan kepada koruptor yang mengambil peran selaku paticipant whitsle blower  ata pelaku pelapor. Penegak hukum juga harus berperan tuntutan dan juga vonis kepada pelaku korupsi harus seberat-beratnya. Jadi,meski ada remisi,tidak terlalu signifikan.

Sebelumnya , menteri hukum dan HAM Patrialis Akbar pernah menyatakan tengah mempertimbangkan penghentian remisi untuk koruptor dan teroris sehingga pemeberian remisi hanya untuk pelaku tindak kejahatan umum.
